Chapter Highlights for My Life, My Body: Sex Ed Made Easy - Boundaries

Welcome to the next blog in the series - Chapter Highlights for My Life, My Body: Sex Ed Made Easy. This blog is about the second chapter - Boundaries.

Why are boundaries part of sexual health education?

Boundaries help us define our needs and wants. Not just in sex, but they help us show others how we need to be treated and how to respect us. Boundaries, when used well, keep us safe from being mistreated and abused.

The latest research around sexual predators shows that the number one thing that stopped them from being able to abuse, was the victim knowing boundaries and body safety.

Boundaries aren’t something we are born with or taught at school, so unless our parents/carers are aware of their own boundaries and teach us as we grow, what boundaries are and how to use them, then it is highly likely that we need to learn boundaries. It is never to late to learn about boundaries and how to implement them.

So why not start now.

The chapter about boundaries in My Life, My Body: Sex Ed Made Easy uses Easy English. Simple sentences with a picture to support the sentence. This makes it easy for everyone to understand.
