Anatomical Models
My new anatomical models are here!
After months of designing, tweaking, printing. I have finally got up the courage to share all of my hard work with everyone.
One of the hardest things to source as a sex therapist and educator, is resources. Resources that show exactly what I am talking about, that clients can actually hold and touch, not just look at on a piece of paper. Which got me thinking, how could I even fix this gap? It felt too hard, but all good things always do!
So I taught myself how to design 3d prints, got myself a 3d printer and practiced until I got it right.
At the start, during my search for files for a model to print, it was scarce, there were exactly 2 files that I could purchase the rights for, print and sell - a vulva and penis. Which got me thinking, why limit it to 2 models? So my dopamine seeking brain forgot about those ones and created my own.
So, what’s in the collection so far?
Vulva Anatomy Model - Perfect for learning the difference between the vulva and vagina. While also learning about the labia minora, labia majora, clitoris, clitoral hood, urethra (yes, it is it’s own hole) and vagina. This model is perfect for showing external ways of exploring pleasure while also learning how to clean safely and about the different parts of the external female anatomy.
Female Pelvic Floor Model - This model is excellent for showing how and where the pelvic floor muscles are. It shows how the muscles support the interior of the female anatomy and is so helpful to have something tangible for client’s to see where the muscles are what is happening when doing the pelvic floor exercises.
Uterus Anatomy Model - This model shows the uterus, vaginal canal, vaginal opening, fallopian tubes and ovaries. This model supports people to understand what the interior organs look like, how they work and provides valuable learning opportunities about contraception and the female hormone cycle.
Erect Penis and Scrotum Model - This model is the size of an average male penis. It was designed off a human penis, and provides clients with the opportunity to see what an erect penis looks like, practice putting on a condom and learning about the sexual response cycle for males.
Sperm Models Small and Large - Like the real thing, these models are delicate! The small sperm come in a pack of 5 because they are so small. You can also order these ones in different colours to match your brand! When used in combination with the other models, these are perfect for showing where the sperm comes out of (penis model) and where they go to after unprotected vaginal intercourse (uterus model). It is a helpful visual tool that people can touch. When learning about sperm, it can be difficult for people to understand what they look like and how they can turn into an actual human if they combine with an ovum. Ovum’s are coming soon! Having a magnified option to learn about can really cement what is happening in someones body.
The female anatomy models also come with a stand and all of the models come with a printout of what the different parts of anatomy are called, so even if you aren’t sure, you can look confident with your clients/students.
What is coming soon?
The interior of the male anatomy - this shows the spongy tissue in the penis, the prostate, the testicles, the bladder and the epididimus.
Travel sized versions of the above models - while the above ones can still travel, I also have a small box that I like to take out sometimes and the large models above won’t fit. Which got me thinking, what about other traveling therapists and educators who also want a smaller version? These travel sized ones will be available in the same colours as the large, but I am also making some other colour variants for those practitioners that like to have different colours in their kits.
