Chapter Highlights for My Life, My Body: Sex Ed Made Easy - Sexuality
Here it is folks, the final deep dive into the final chapter of My Life, My Body: Sex Ed Made Easy.
The final chapter is all about Sexuality.
We often hear the word sexuality, but we don’t always know what it means. It can also come with a stigma, like it is something to be ashamed of. But not here. Not at Pleasure Pixel.
Everyone has a sexuality and how we show and experience our sexuality is entirely our choice. No one can tell you what your sexuality means to you. This is the message that is shared in the final chapter of My Life, My Body: Sex Ed Made Easy.
For those that read the eBook from cover to cover, this is the chapter where it all comes together. We learnt about consent, healthy relationships, boundaries, private parts, the male body, the female body, sexual pleasure, safer sex, HIV and STIs, pregnancy, porn, biological sex and gender. All of these make up the sexuality.
Who am I attracted to in a sexual way?
How do I feel sexy?
What is sexual pleasure for me?
How do I want to display my gender?
What is important to me in my sexual relationships?
What do I need to feel safe when I am in an intimate relationship and when I am having sex?
What is sex for me?
What does sex look and feel like for me, alone and/or partnered?
Do I want to have children, and if I don’t, what does that feel like?
All of these valid questions will come up throughout our life and they all form our sexuality.
Sexuality is not something to be scared or ashamed of. It is an intimate part of ourselves that we can choose to share with others, when we want to and within the boundaries of safety.
We struggle when we come up against outside influence that doesn’t match our internal needs and wants. This can look like unacceptance of your sexual orientation, unacceptance of your gender presentation, unacceptance of anything to do with your sexuality because it doesn’t fit their rigid ideas of sexuality.
And this is what it comes down to. Unconditional acceptance of someone for who they are, not what you want them to be.
My Life, My Body: Sex Ed Made Easy breaks down each aspect of sexuality into easy to understand information with pictures. It doesn’t tell the reader who they need to be. It simply provides information. Accurate, evidence based information to support the reader to make safe choices for themselves.
Because at the end of the day, we all want to be our best selves and not feel burdened by other peoples expectations of us. We all want to be accepted for who we are as a human being.
